Five Decades Of Value Creating

1980s
Secured World Bank long-term, low-interest loans to cover 50% of the total cost for eight major projects in China's Jiangxi Province. This included a full-value-chain navel orange project — spanning planting, processing, and sales on greenfield sites in 18 southern Jiangxi counties — which evolved into a company listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange within six years. Today, the "South Jiangxi Navel Orange" brand is valued at approximately Rmb70 billion.
1990s
Directed Shenzhen Xunlong to obtain a US$11 million export credit facility from Nordic Investment Bank to import from Norway a modern high-speed passenger ferry for the route between Shekou (Shenzhen) and Hong Kong, named Xunlong I. Due to ideal return on investment, directed Xunlong to import a second such ferry from Norway under Nordic Investment Bank's US$11 million export credit facility again, named Xunlong II.
2000s
Advised Creat Group, the controlling shareholder of Andre Juice, for the latter's debut on Hong Kong Stock Exchange followed by a secondary listing on Shanghai Stock Exchange, and brought International Finance Corporation (IFC), member of the World Bank Group, to lend US$15 million. When meeting Chinese entrepreneurs, IFC often cites Andre Juice as an example of the types of companies IFC seeks to work with. Andre Juice has grown to be one of the world's leading concentrated fruit juice producers and suppliers.
Assisted Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shenzhen Development Bank (SZDB) in transacting with Newbridge Capital of the United States. SZDB became China's first domestic bank that was controlled by foreign capital with a 17.89% equity stake, a landmark transaction that demonstrated China's initial opening of its banking sector to foreign strategic investors.
Advised Mitsubishi UFJ Securities (HK) Capital on its investment as the eighth largest stockholder in LDK Solar in Xinyu, China, through its investment vehicle, MUS Roosevelt China Pacific Fund, a joint venture with U.S. President Roosevelt's family before LDK's US$469 million IPO on New York Stock Exchange, the largest issuance in the U.S. by Chinese companies then. LDK became a listed company in two years from inception, and grew in three years from inception to become a world-class manufacturer of multi-crystalline solar wafers used in solar cells.
Advised Lorus Therapeutics, an anti-cancer drug R&D company in Toronto, Canada, of its corporate restructuring and fundraising. Listed on Toronto Stock Exchange, Lorus was once a constituent of the Standard & Poor/Toronto Stock Exchange Composite Index.
2010s
Launched a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) that raised US$115 million and traded on Nasdaq in 2018 when Asia had no SPAC cases (Singapore Stock Exchange admitted its first SPAC in September 2021 and Hong Kong Stock Exchange's first SPAC was launched in January 2022).
2020s
Advised CITIC Capital, a premier international investment bank headquartered in Hong Kong, to launch a SPAC that raised US$276 million and traded on New York Stock Exchange.
